sun3 and sun3x Series (Motorola 68020/030, P4bus) Machines and Parts

Note: Support for the sun-3/3x lines ceased after SunOS 4.1.

1. - Helios RAM upgrade board for a Sun 3/50 (Motorola 68020 CPU running at 16 MHz),
   
2. - Sun 3/60 system unit (Motorola 68020 CPU running at 20 MHz). You can also see images of:
   
   • - a Sun 3/60 mainboard with no P4-bus framebuffer fitted,
     
   • - a 3/60 mainboard with a 501-1210 P4-bus colour framebuffer fitted,

5. - Sun 4/610 (ss600mp) deskside system using a 3/110 3-slot enclosure. Sun never sold the SS600MP in this configuration, but I did have one set up like this and captured the pic for posterity. It shows how a 3/110 case was mounted in the vertical configuration,
   
6. - a Sun 3/160 system with full-height 72" rack full of storage gear. The top item is a 9-track open-reel tape drive,

8. - filled 3/280 SunVME chassis from the front and rear. Note the size of the 12-slot SunVME cardcage!. You can also see:

9. - front view of a Sun 3/470 system which featured a Motorola 68030 CPU running at 33 MHz. You can also see a rear view, and a close-up view of the filled card cage.
