Please note that the best place for accurate data on Sun's official
position regarding compatibility of RAM and CPU modules for various
platforms is the Field Engineer and System Handbooks,
which I now have online! The online handbooks are direct copies of the files
off the CD-ROM editions of the FEH/SH.
If you have any information about CPU or RAM module compatibility which conflicts with what is shown in the Field Engineer and System Handbooks then please let me know...
More information is also required for Ultrasparc RAM module compatibility to update the RAM module table. I am also working on an Ultrasparc CPU module compatibility table, so if you have any info for this, please get in touch.
Special Note: I would like to acknowledge the
wonderful support of Leslie
Connally in updating and adding to the information contained in the
following tables.

There are a lot of differently-configured Hypersparc CPU modules (between 1 and 4 processors, different cache sizes, and clock speeds up to 200 MHz per processor) which work flawlessly in Sun machines but are not officially endorsed by Sun. If you have any information about using these un-endorsed modules in Sun-4m machines, please email me with the details so I can add them into the above table.
Also check Mike Spooner's Rough Guide to Mbus Modules for a lot more technical and historical informaion.
