System Codenames

Notes

1. Four DIMMs of the same size form a bank.
2. A populated DIMM bank requires an UltraSPARC IV CPU.
3. Mixing UltraSPARC III Cu and UltraSPARC IV is supported.
4. The minimum operating system is Solaris 8 2/04 or Solaris 9 4/04.
5. F540-5940 is made with covers 340-4293 and 340-7852 and heatsink 541-0078.
6. F540-6251 is made with cover 541-0141 and heatsink 541-0122.
7. F540-6251 replaced F540-5940 in June 2004. (WO_29286)

Sun Fire 4800/6800/E4900/E6900 Notes

1. The minimum System Controller firmware level for 1050MHz or 1200MHz is 5.16.
2. The minimum System Controller firmware level for 1350MHz is 5.18.1.
3. The Sun Fire 4800 requires E4900 Power Supply 300-1596.
4. The Sun Fire 4800 requires E4900 Fan Trays 540-5997, 540-5998, and 540-5999.
5. The Sun Fire 6800 requires E6900 Power Supply 300-1595.
6. CPU/Memory Board slots are labeled SB0 through SB5.
7. Install Filler Board 540-4040 in all empty CPU/Memory Board slots.
8. Install Filler Panel 330-2821 when servicing a CPU/Memory Board slot.

Sun Fire 12K/15K/E20K/E25K Notes

1. CPU/Memory slots are labeled SB0 through SB17.
2. SMS 1.4.1 with patches is required.
   For 1350MHz, SMS 1.4.1 with patch 117866-04 is required.
3. 540-5940:
   • This Uniboard runs at 1050MHz when installed in the 12K, 15K, E20K and E25K.
4. All other 1200MHz Uniboards:
   • Sun Fire 12K/15K: Full 1200MHz performance requires hardware upgrade kit C-F1XK-USIV-KIT (carrier plate upgrade), containing carrier plates 541-0119, 541-0120, and 541-0121.
     • The upgrade must be completed by following the System Controller seeprom update instructions
       in SunSolve Document ID 75561.
   • Sun Fire E20K/E25K: The required carrier plates are shipped with E20K/E25K.
5. Expander Boards 501-5179-20 and 501-6827-01 include AXQ 6.3.
   Upgrade C-HIGHEND-UG includes nine 501-6827 Expander Boards.
