Netra t1 100/105 PortsSerial Ports(See also Netra Serial Ports) Two RJ45 Serial Ports come standard with each system and are compatible with a Cisco Terminal Server. The serial port (ttya) is used as a console and LOM port. A DB-25 (RS-232) pin connector that is provided in every system is meant to be plugged into a Sun workstation. Using "tip hardware" will allow you to obtain a console from a Sun workstation. Note: When viewed from the rear of the Netra T1 server, pin 1 of the RJ-45 serial port is on the left, pin 8 is on the right.
Ethernet Ports(See also Fast Ethernet Ports) Two 10/100 Base T auto-negotiating ports come standard with each system. There are corresponding link LED indicators for each ethernet connection in the front and back. The "Net 0" uses the hme0 Solaris device driver (default primary ethernet interface) and "Net 1" uses the hme1 Solaris device driver. If a problem should arise, check the state of the port by using the ifconfig -a and ping commands. In addition, check the recommended patches are installed before suspecting a hardware problem. Note: Net 0 (primary network connection) is the second port on the right, not the left one.
SCSI ConnectionThe fast-wide SCSI is a single channel bus SCSI. Typically, this can be used
to install an external disk array such as the Netra st D130 or external CDROM
or DAT drive.
